Sorry about the delay in replying--I've been traveling about. Biking is definitely the right choice here, and actually, almost any bike will do. Flats can be avoided with proper tire pressure, but no bike will really keep you from feeling the bad roads in the knees. Neither of my bikes has shocks--I wonder if that might help...My road bike is steel, and I find the material absorbs more road shock than the aluminum frame of my cruiser. I realize I'm not being that helpful. But I wish I could go shopping with you! I love new bikes. Let me know if you want a friend to go to the bike shoppe with you guys. See you on the roads!
